The lineup for the SHIIINE ON WEEKENDER 2017 is looking AMAZING....

The Shiiine On Weekender is a celebration of Indie and Dance from the late 80s, 90s and beyond. The weekend brings you the artistes that produced the soundtrack to the golden period in popular culture when clubbers and gig goers came together in what seemed like a decade long party.

It has just got bigger with its latest wave of bands to be announced for Winter’s ultimate indie and dance festival.

We are delighted to announce Embrace will be joining the bill headlining the Saturday night of the event. The band who had a number one album in 1998 with the critically acclaimed ‘The Good Will Out’ will join fellow headliners Happy Mondays and Levellers.

Joining Embrace on the main stage Saturday will be New York City’s finest, Fun Lovin’ Criminals.  The trio bring their unique blend of hip hop, rock and funk to Shiiine along with their massive hits ‘Scooby Snacks’, ‘The Fun Lovin’ Criminal’ and ‘King Of New York’.

Also heading up a stellar Saturday line up is Starsailor. The band who are currently recording a new album (set to be released later this year through Cooking Vinyl) have ten Top 40 singles and two Top 10 albums to their name including the classics ‘Good Souls’, ‘Alcoholic’ and ‘Four To The Floor’. The band have enjoyed more than their fair share of prestigious gigs including supporting the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers, and U2, and have sold over 3 million albums worldwide.

Peter Hook & The Light return to Minehead after stealing the show in 2015. Having released 4 live albums on vinyl for record store day the former New Order man continues to earn his tag as the hardest working man in rock touring the globe playing Joy Division’s and New Order’s back catalogue.

Manchester legends A Certain Ratio will make a rare live outing bringing their post-punk and dance-funk to Shiiine in what promises to be a cherished performance from the former Factory Records band. Dreadzone also join the bill bringing their Dub, Reggae and Dance fusion to the event and they will be joined by Electronic Big Beat pioneers Dub Pistols

Neo-psychedelia rockers Space make a return to Shiiine following their main stage appearance in 2015. The band first rose to prominence in the ‘90s with two double platinum albums whilst their new offering ‘Give Me Your Future’, is set to be released this year.

Hurricane #1 are added to the bill to play a rescheduled show from last year and the legend himself Digsy (of Oasis’ Digsy’s dinner fame!) has reformed the cult band Smaller for a special Shiiine appearance. Acid Jazz four piece Corduroy make a rare live outing in Minehead whilst Junior Boys Own dance pioneers Terry Farley & Pete Heller join the bill for a special DJ set on the dance stage.

BBC 6 Music legend Steve Lamacq returns to Shiiine for a second time whilst also back by popular demand is The Clone Roses who play for a third time following two previous triumphant sets. They will be joined by fellow cover bands The Verve Experience and Screamareplica. The ultimate Britpop party, Star Shaped will also be providing a special club night for all the Britpoppers.

Finally, there will also be a very rare showing of the Hacienda film, Do You Own The Dancefloor whilst Brian Cannon, the man behind Oasis and Verve artwork brings his acclaimed Microdot exhibition to Shiiine.
