The Skints Present 'Short Change' EP….

Reggae-dub upstarts The Skints are pleased to announce their new EP, ‘Short Change’ - the first release on their own independent label Penny Drop Recordings - due out on 31st March.

Their first material since working with close friend and renowned producer, Prince Fatty, who produced their 2013 album ‘Part and Parcel’, the three-track EP continues to exhibit the four-piece’s trademark punk-inspired East London reggae sound.

The accompanying video to lead single 'The Cost Of Living Is Killing Me' recently premiered on Clash, who called it "an urgent plea from one of the most beleaguered sections of society".

Second track ‘Break Me Down’ is more nostalgic in feel, with vintage/’69 reggae vibes tinged with the raw tones of UK hip-hop. A collaboration with London-based rapper and guitarist Jovel aka Random Impulse, the uplifting harmonies epitomize the sunny sound of summer.

‘Broken Hearted’, the third and final track, is best described as ‘Jamaican dancehall-influenced party pop’, with an undeniably feel-good vibe that perfectly showcases The Skints’ ability to transcend genres.

With their punk rock work ethic and genre-bending style, this talented group are truly on the cutting edge of the capital’s sound.
