The Skints Present 'The Cost Of Living Is Killing Me', watch the video here….

Reggae-dub upstarts The Skints are pleased to announce the official video to their new single 'The Cost of Living Is Killing Me', freshly premiered on Clash.

Taken from their forthcoming EP, ‘Short Change’ - the first release on their own independent labelPenny Drop Recordings - due out on 31st March, the single is a seemingly bittersweet ode to the current economic climate, played out over an infectious rhythm influenced by the thumping soundsystem reggae of Jah Shaka.

With Josh Waters Rudge casting a gritty Cockney spell with his credible rap style, complemented by the rich tones of the multi-talented Marcia Richards (keys, saxophone, flute and melodica) and vocal talents of drummer Jamie Kyriakides, the track delivers topical lyrics that will appeal to listeners across the spectrums of pop, ska and grime.

A montage of London-centric sights, the video transitions through arty camera angles and CCTV-esque footage that takes viewers on an audio-visual journey, juxtaposing the notion of a polished city with a grittier side to the capital, and featuring a train motif that runs throughout.

With their punk rock work ethic and genre-bending style, this talented group are truly on the cutting edge of the capital’s sound.
