UK DRUM N' BASS LABEL VAMPIRE RECORDS HAVE RELEASED A NEW COMPILATION....
Vampire Records proudly present their new label compilation, ‘Identity Switch’, featuring 26 exclusive drum and bass tracks, released on December 15th.
Founded by Phil Aslett back in 2006, the St. Albans based label aims to provide a platform for both established artists and up and coming talent to release the highest quality drum and bass.
‘Identity Switch’ features a whole plethora of acts currently on the Vampire roster – ranging from Metalheadz alumni Source Direct and Physics, through to emerging acts such as Kolectiv. The Vampire ideology is driven by a commitment to bringing fans exclusive tracks that deliver twisted atmospherics and completely fresh sounds, whilst still preserving the true origins of drum and bass.
Kick starting the compilation is a deadly new tune from Canada’s very own Nusense, which immediately gives an insight into the Vampire ethos – releasing hard-hitting drum and bass with a fiery, dark edge. Mindstorm brings his signature sound to the mix with ‘Deception Point’, having been signed to Columbia Records and receiving critical acclaim from the likes of MixMag and BBC Radio 1, whilst vocalist Monika Emat brings a sharp dose of haunting melodies to penultimate track ‘Impulse’ by Voodocoder – a more laid-back offering. From liquid funk to darkstep, Vampire Records cover all bases and leave no stone unturned when it comes to sourcing the finest talent in the drum and bass world.
After releasing the first two compilations in physical format, Vampire’s last album ‘Nocturnal’ was made available digitally, applying the same philosophy that the label never wavers from.
“I like to think the Vampire label has its own identity and does not follow trends... I tried to sum up the Vampire sound on my Old To The New EP, which basically used the old school sound and techniques but bringing into the modern era,” says Phil.
Vampire Records’ stamp of excellence is apparent yet again on this enthralling compilation. A record whose 26 future floor fillers take its listeners on a truly diverse voyage through the genre, it continues to prove the label’s credibility with the old school, as well as the new breed of drum and bass fan.
