Vancouver based Pop/Soul star MATHEW V launches new single 'The Day I Die', listen to it here....
Mathew V is a Vancouver based Pop/Soul singer who has recently launched his new single 'The Day I Die' to Spotify and Soundcloud.
His new EP was finished well before 'The Day I Die' came to fruition. Although the project was technically finished, he felt like there was still something else left to say. He typically prefers to write on his own, as he did for this EP… with “The Day I Die” being the only exception.
He wrote this song with one of his dearest friends, Luca Fogale, who also happens to be one of the most talented musicians he's ever met. Luca was busy tracking his album at the time and Mathew was busy filming the 'If I’m Enough' music video, so they ended up writing most of the melody over voice notes, sent back and forth via email. They spent their free moments over tea, flushing out lyrics and finally tracking the song in Luca's basement. After all is said and done, Mathew feels like they found the missing piece, and its probably his favourite song on the EP.
The EP comes out on October 20th.
The record is about a boy that Mathew never met. His self doubt, insecurities and the chaos that came along with them, ended up destroying any opportunity he may have had to create something good. Writing this EP, Mathew was able to walk through his emotions and ultimately be self aware of how his insecurities were holding him back.
