Following the recent announcement of her third studio album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, to be released via Dirty Hit on 16 August, BEABADOOBEE has shared Coming Home, the second single to be taken from the record. Channeling her love for The Beatles, the single is a nostalgic track with a flourish of muted trumpet and is about missing loved ones while on the road.

Beabadoobee says: “I wrote it in a hotel room in LA when I was away from my boyfriend, my loved ones, my two cats. It opens with all the little mundane things that I miss, like doing the dishes, because I’m always away. Really, it’s just a cute little love song with a weird non-existent structure.”

RECENT PRAISE FOR BEABADOOBEE

This Is How Tomorrow Moves features some of Laus’ richest, most direct songwriting yet, and the punchy, detailed production that could take her from internet celebrity to household name.” THE GUARDIAN

Gen Z’s favourite bedroom pop star sticks to the hazy introspection and dreamlike vocals that have made her name. Steered by peerless producer Rick Rubin (Metallica,  Rage Against The Machine, The Chicks, Weezer) the 23 year old Brit sings about finding comfort in chaos.” THE TELEGRAPH

This new music video features the critically acclaimed artist in a Groundhog Day-like state of passionate delirium as she spirals out of control.” DAZED

Beabadoobee is embracing the sweet aspects of her daily chaos.” ROLLING STONE

Take A Bite sees Beabadoobee reflect on a cycle of negative thoughts and her desire to indulge in those behaviours over a 90s folk rock-inspired instrumental.” NME

Beabadoobee has also announced a headline tour of North America in September, seeing her return to LA’s Greek Theatre and play two nights at NYC’s Summerstage in Central Park, and comes with support from one of her favourite bands Hovvdy. Tickets go on sale on Thursday 6 June.

She returned to the live stage in May to headline the New Music stage at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, debuting the recent single Take A Bite live for the first time, and in August she will open for Mitski at All Points East festival in London and will headline the BBC Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds.

This Is How Tomorrow Moves finds Beabadoobee stepping up to a new level in her abilities as a songwriter, crafting arresting melodies and pushing herself to develop and explore new frontiers of vulnerability, both in her storytelling and her relationship with herself.

Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin and long term collaborator and bandmate Jacob Bugden, Bea swapped her bedroom for his infamous Shangri-La studio in Malibu to create a deeply self-assured record with a vast sonic scope of rock and pop. Pre-order / pre-save This Is How Tomorrow Moves

The new album stands as a testament to Beabadoobee’s artistic evolution and resilience, marking a significant milestone in her career. It captures a journey through confidence and introspection, with themes of self-acceptance and personal growth woven throughout; in parts a love letter to her younger self and all that she’s been through.

On This Is How Tomorrow Moves, Beabadoobee is comfortable in taking the reins of this next stage of her life: “I love this album,” she says simply, “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”

I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs,” she adds. “In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”
