'Alcohol and Cheap Hotels', this isn’t the beginning of a wonderful new website that may rival trip advisor, it's the latest EP from East London based band Scarlet Realm.

This rock band (originally going by the name of ‘Iraq’), brings the sound of art to the airwaves, they're a polished four piece who have been honing their live skills in acoustic settings at some of London’s finest music venues.

‘Alcohol and Cheap Hotels’ is the name of the intro piece which opens up the pores of a lead vocalist who’s influenced by Blondie’s very own Debbie Harry. This is a great start to the EP, “My dreams are made of snow that needed to keep me cold”.

A highlight for this reviewer is definitely ‘Suburbs’, ‘I Predict my end, hanging from my belt’ a distinctive vocal backed up by a funk laden guitar, the cohesion between the four makes the sound just come alive, wonderful stuff indeed. Alongside ‘Eyes’, there’s a nice dose of 90’s ‘grunge rock’, "grunge is dead" they say, but not to these ears.

The final track is ‘Dark Gravity’, it hits you straight in the face with attitude in abundance. With heavier hooks and a bass line that could stir the groove in a wooden leg that’s been resting against the wall.
