Weekly roundup of the best music info from the rest of the web - Dec 31st 2017
As I write this, it’s 8:40pm on December 30th, I’ve not had a great deal of news to blog about so we have been running through a few other websites to see what they’ve been up to over the festive period (other than stuffing their faces of course!), here’s what we found….
We headed over to louderthanwar.com where a dazzling live review of Mark Lanegan, Joe Cardamone & Duke Garwood at Koko in Camden caught our eye an interview with Portsmouth artist Ben Brookes and their very detailed rundown of the top 75 albums of 2017.
Next up, it was over to amusicblogyea.com where we spotted some great interviews with the likes of Wolf Alice, Steve Sladkowski from Canadian punk group PUP and Knocked Loose drummer Kevin “Pacsun” Kaine and guitarist Cole Crutchfield.
Over to www.drunkenwerewolf.com next to check out a great interview they did with Bristol duo Meadowlark, okay, this was done back in October but having chatted to these guys on a number of occasions over the past couple of years, I was interested to see what they had to say….
Over at www.goldflakepaint.co.uk we checked out their thoughts on the most essential albums from 2017 and a rather splendid write up on Sufjan Steven’s latest long player The Greatest Gift.
www.hitthefloor.com took a different approach and rather than ramming their views into your already stuffed bellies, they decided to look at a top ten of THE top ten rundowns from other websites, it’s an interesting read….
I’ll leave the final word with www.pitchfork.com as they ran a great feature on the latest long player from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, the name alone is enough to make me click on the link and take a look!
Wll that's it until 2018 folks, keep it real, we'll see you on the other side!
