Twenty years ago the music world was introduced to a fusion of hard rock and fiery hip hop with passion bleeding lyrics. Senser arrived in 1994 with their debut album, ‘Stacked up’.

An album which grasps the test of time, a relevance to faithful followers and new upstarts, due to powerful attitudes and non-stop aggression of musical fortitude. The West London crew bounded together to bring strength and speak for the voiceless.

From start to finish this record reduces everything else to debris like a Sharknado through L.A. ‘States of Mind’ is how a record should begin, Heitham Al Sayed and Kirsten Haigh the duo, who are the advocates of each other. Bring aggressive and harmonious vocals to the forefront of crunching guitar solos by Nick Michaelson while John Morgan keeps the beat with his drumming expertise.   

The crossover sound of ‘Switch’ with stories of how life is and where the band is coming from, with lyrics like:-

“You’re gonna say how did it ever get this far
when all I ever wanted was a house and a car.
Now Moma's in the backroom serving up rocks,
Daddy's in Wandsworth sitting in a box.

Ferocious tunes get the head swinging and the mosh pit excited, immortal words of “Born to an age of panic” a classic, the moment the beat begins and the veins scream to leave the skin. ‘What’s goin’ on’ is where Heitham shows how not many lead singers have an ability of what he gives, he outshines many MCs to leave them in the shadows like a ghoul from Hellblazer.

Their comparison to American legends Rage Against The Machine is expected with political overtones and heavy fast paced music but Senser are Senser, not a cover band. With Eject and No Comply their legacy starts with passion, growing in an unruly and closed world that they speak of:-

'cause children are all born the same
and they play together till someone tells them lies
and they got me this way a long time ago
but this time they won't get me, no.

With stories from band break ups to reformations to a new album where fans donate. Many obstacles have been placed in their path from day one, where self-sabotage is sometimes the cause. Through all this Senser produced one of the best British rock/rap crossover albums of the time and showed back then how talented this crew really are. 

Twenty Years old and it’s finally recovered from acne, the growl is still there, and the fight is ever present. Stacked Up is all that is needed within a record and this is a suggestion to add this to your collection.
