It's uncanny, some people's knack for telling the future. TV fans will be familiar with Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror', which - with its uncompromising first episode - offered a skewed take on the David Cameron/Prime Minister/pig scandal that hit the headlines a few years later. Less porcine, and infinitely more musical in nature is Sheffield's favourite son Jarvis Cocker, and the debut offering ‘Beyond The Pale’ from his new six-piece, creatively dubbed 'Jarv Is'.

I chatted to a guy called Jacob Banks recently and learned that he’s in a band called Mouthbreathre. We exchanged numerous emails and he asked if I’d be up for helping them to push their new EP which is due to land on July 24th, we took a listen and I got straight back to him to let us know that we’d love to be involved. I suggested an interview feature so we could cover as much information as possible and get it out to people who we hope will become fans of their music in due course.

They recently gained some airplay courtesy of Sarah Gosling via her ‘BBC Intro in the South West show’, if it’s good enough to make her ears prick up, we’re there!

Do you remember what happened at the MTV Unplugged session that OASIS did back in 1996? Liam bailed at the last moment (owing to illness…..ahem) leaving Noel to pick up vocal duties as well as lead guitar whilst Liam stood on the balcony, slugging back beers and taking every opportunity to heckle the band. Noel and the band did well, some might say (see what I did there?) he even saved the day and widened the already noticeable cracks in the relationship between him and his younger sibling. Fast forward 24 years and Liam gets a second bite of the apple, but this time, he went solo (with the assistance of his band of course), read on to see how the show went down….

We have been working hard securing a few headline acts to perform at our very own podcast festival which is going to be taking place on Sunday June 28th and I thought I’d drop the manager of The Amazons a line to see if they’d be up for donating a track. I was amazed when he came back and said that they’d love to be a part of the event and provided me with a specially recorded ‘lockdown’ acoustic version of their track ‘Mother’ to play. He also asked if I’d like to have a chat with one of the band members and find out what they’ve been upto, who am I to miss out on an opportunity like this….
