In advance of an imminent album release next month, this comparatively new artist, named after the Greek goddess of wild animals, releases a fully-fledged, self-produced four track EP of ‘ethereal’ instrumentals that play around distinctly with the ether and the realms beyond.

The Jaded Hearts Club are a new band featuring frontmen Nic Cester (Jet) and Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets), guitarists Graham Coxon (Blur) and Jamie Davis, plus Matt Bellamy (Muse) on bass and drummer Sean Payne (The Zutons).

They share a new video today for track ‘Reach Out I’ll Be There’ which features Nic Cester lending his growling rock vocals to the Four Tops’ 60’s Motown track.

How some people change. When Leicester indie-rockers Young Knives first came to the public's attention, they were somewhat smart. Preppy. Ties, slacks and tweed were not uncommon. A meaner person might say they were odd-balls. Whatever, the starched collars-and-slicked-hair-office-worker look they presented around the time of 2006's debut album 'Voices of Animals and Men' is now out the window, as is the sound they embraced on their four previous studio albums. Taking a look at brothers Henry (or his stage alias "House of Lords") and Thomas Dartnall these days requires the obligatory double-glance. With his long, grungey hair and beard, Thomas looks like the survivor of a particularly rough nuclear apocalypse. He and his brother wear the expressions of men who have seen things. Things no man should see.

It's uncanny, some people's knack for telling the future. TV fans will be familiar with Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror', which - with its uncompromising first episode - offered a skewed take on the David Cameron/Prime Minister/pig scandal that hit the headlines a few years later. Less porcine, and infinitely more musical in nature is Sheffield's favourite son Jarvis Cocker, and the debut offering ‘Beyond The Pale’ from his new six-piece, creatively dubbed 'Jarv Is'.

I chatted to a guy called Jacob Banks recently and learned that he’s in a band called Mouthbreathre. We exchanged numerous emails and he asked if I’d be up for helping them to push their new EP which is due to land on July 24th, we took a listen and I got straight back to him to let us know that we’d love to be involved. I suggested an interview feature so we could cover as much information as possible and get it out to people who we hope will become fans of their music in due course.

They recently gained some airplay courtesy of Sarah Gosling via her ‘BBC Intro in the South West show’, if it’s good enough to make her ears prick up, we’re there!
