Following the release of ‘Get Your Shit Together’, we caught up with London based artist SABATTA to chat about musical genres, London, recording and talking to animals (as you do), read on to see how we got on….

Ahead of the release of his debut solo album on October 6th, we caught up with JOHN DOUGLAS, one of Scotland’s most gifted songwriters and a member of TRASHCAN SINATRAS to chat about the making of the record, the content, recording and of course, how it came about.

You can call him cantankerous, hard-nosed, fucking awkward and self-opinionated, but say what you like about John Lydon, he doesn’t care..... he’s got a message to get across to anyone that is willing to listen and he couldn’t give a rat’s twat whose feathers he ruffles along the way.

The evening, while centered around Death Cult and their eponymous EPs, will boast a setlist that spans the three phases of the band, from Southern Death Cult, to Death Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: Dreamtime (1984) and Love (1985).

Today saw the turn of a Torbay based indie quartet called THE VIVE and having been briefly introduced to them after their set at this year’s Boardmasters Festival, I was keen to see them in action.

Tonight sees future indie music star Anna Erhard playing to the Bristol massive and riding high from the airplay received from 6 music and no doubt other national stations for her latest track '170', the excitement was palpable.

Rowland’s voice remains a thing of unorthodox beauty : a soul boy who approaches each song with vigour and layers of untapped longing, yet he is ALWAYS in command and control. His penchant for talking to and fro with members of the band is uniquely appealing, exhibiting a stand up comedy feel whilst the world view he projects is a singular one. He is accepting and slightly unsure of himself, all at the same time.

There's a queue to get into the Phoenix tonight, which can't be too common a sight on a stupendously soggy Sunday evening, and there's a nice atmosphere building around the bar and foyer, it seems a lot of people have been waiting patiently to see BDB, some may have been waiting for 25 years, no wonder they're keen!
