The biblical amount of rain that fell on Birmingham’s streets did nothing to deter the die hard fans that have been patiently waiting nearly 30 years to see a band that called it a day in the mid 90’s reform for just 6 UK shows. From the early days in Bellshill, Glasgow, this quartet have been a part of a scene that has been well documented over the years, acts such as The Vaselines, The Pastels, Teenage Fanclub and BMX Bandits owned the live scene in the area and, unbeknown to them, would be instrumental in forging the careers of many acts who drew influence from them. I am talking about a group called The Soup Dragons and I was in the heart of the Birmingham city centre to catch their live show at the O2 Academy.

Solarrio, the talented artist and producer based in Berlin, is back with a bang, and this time he's brought a special guest along for the ride. Solarrio, originally born David Barenboim to Russian and Argentinian parents, has had a truly global upbringing, having lived in France, Germany, and the USA. After establishing himself as KD Supier and collaborating with various German hip-hop artists throughout the 2000s, Solarrio embarked on a creative transformation in 2016, rebranding himself as Solarrio to launch his own music project. This evolution marked the beginning of his unique journey, which is now leading to the release of his debut album in Spring 2024.
"NLF" seamlessly blends funk and dance-pop elements, giving birth to an irresistibly catchy and rhythm-infused dance track. Solarrio's production skills are evident in the track's lively beats, glistening synth layers, and dynamic vocal performances. The song skillfully merges the captivating funk groove with the catchy essence of pop, resulting in a sound that's simultaneously nostalgic and forward-thinking.
