Mimosa offer something different, a sound of their own.
They deliver with an energised, passionate, live performance that people will enjoy without reservation. With influences from Led Zeppelin, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and Red Hot Chili Peppers they offer a unique sound, crafted from a varied taste in music.
Formed during the global pandemic, their live performances have already seen Mimosa fill tents at major UK festivals, such as YNOT Festival and more and headline shows all across the country. Mimosa have also headlined in Nottingham for BBC Introducing. Another sold out show which saw the performance recorded for broadcast - Watch HERE
Taxi Fare was one of mimosa earlier tunes written sometime in 2020. It pays homage to what a standard night out is like locally in their rural town. The dirty guitar tones and high energy is a reflection of how messy things can get in a ‘everyone knows everyone’ kinda town.
Mad Man was written in the midst of lockdown when strange rules were applied to the public but didn’t seem they mattered to the people in charge, the whole thing feeling as if we were being controlled. “Mad Man”, meaning one leader who rules the world and creates all these unfortunate events to stick to his plan all while remaining innocent for his actions.
We were invited along to the Birmingham show to catch The Twang in action at what was their last show of 2023, the excitement was palpable, the queue was near biblical, all that remains is for us to get inside, warm up and grab a beer before the show kicked off.

I'll be back on the airwaves on Friday, January 12th where I'll be spinning a bunch of new tracks and MAYBE hosting the first of many 'Round Table' events featuring actual music fans rather than members of bands and solo artists as they seem to gig quite a lot on Friday night!
Tune in from 10pm on Friday 12th January for all this and the usual tomfoolery!
Without a doubt, Skinny Lister are one of best live acts around right now and the full on party we got to enjoy at the Fleece in Bristol just reinforced those credentials.

It's is an album which, like Brexit, was ‘oven ready’ before lockdown but now has been released on an unsuspecting public fully cooked and further marinaded in post COVID neuroses. It's consistently unsettling, multi layered and one hell of a listen. Fans of Interpol, Editors and QOTSA won't be disappointed, fans of Arctic Monkeys will find moments to adore too.

The band's brand-new 7th studio album, ‘NATURAL MAGICK’, finds the original 4 members delivering their renewed wild energy that we know and love. A mesmeric 13-track incantation incorporating blazing psychedelic sermons, raga rave-ups, stardust-coated pop pearls and mood-enhancing mantras, it is a technicolor sonic pathway towards a more enlightened state of mind. There is kinetic energy coursing through every second of ‘NATURAL MAGICK' that is planted firmly in the rolling 24-hour news-feed mind-mash that is today’s Planet Earth.
