as part of the Summer Sessions, we catch up with Clara Germein from Adelaide based trio GERMEIN to chat about the show and dig a little deeper into the band….

Glasgow based alt-rock quartet DEAD PONY recently announced details of a 7 date December tour as well as a bunch of Summer shows to help promote their stunning debut album ‘Ignore This’.

Whilst they were tripping around Germany, we caught up with Anna from the band and asked her a bunch of questions, here’s how we got on!

Placebo will be performing at the Canons Marsh Ampitheatre in the heart of Bristol on June 28. We have delved deep to unearth some interesting facts about the band, some of their achievements to date and what we think you can look forward to when they take to the stage. 

In 2022 Placebo released their universally-acclaimed eighth studio album Never Let Me Go.  Considering themes of personal accountability, tech-saturation, mortality, and humanity’s true place in the world, Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal conjured a world that stares harsh realities in the face.  Never Let Me Go saw Placebo continue to view their subject matter through as wide a lens as possible, and the album became a place to hold onto the hope of something brighter to come. 

Beabadoobee today announces her 2024 UK headline tour, taking place this November and taking in nine dates and culminating with a huge night at London’s Alexandra Palace. “I found myself unexpectedly writing and recording an album. Amidst the busyness of life—managing a small business, fatherhood, and all that entails—I have struggled to find time for songwriting over the past few years but started to read a lot, and try to write, poetry instead, which I could do in any moments that I had spare.”

We just spent 3 days at WYCHWOOD FESTIVAL, we sang, we danced, we ate, we drank, we wrote notes and photographed A LOT of bands, read on to see how we got on…

I’ll say it now, I’m not normally one for Sunday night gigs, I have a Monday breakfast meeting at 08:30 and with a later than usual night with an increase in the levels of excitement, I find it hard to nod off and often find myself thinking about the gig into the wee small hours, not good when you have to present the latest stats and reports for the project you’re working on to top brass that were more than likely snuggled up with a warm milky beverage by 9pm.

Erotic Secrets of Pompeii, henceforth to be known as ‘ESOP’ for reasons of brevity, are an art-rock post-punk renaissance-sci-fi outfit from Bristol. Their debut LP has been well received by music consuming oddballs everywhere. And as one of those oddballs I stood in what could reasonably be described as a matt black fallout shelter with optics and a stage, waiting for the evening's entertainment.

It was our first time at Bearded Theory Festival, we didn;t know what to expect but soon found our feet and settled in for a great weekend of music and people watching.
