ANTHEMIC INDIE folk 5-piece Racing Glaciers hail from Macclesfield, already boasting support slots with the likes of Kodaline, this band are making big strides into their own headline tours.
Originally intended to be a one off collaboration, the band recorded their first EP in a living room in just a week, after catching massive attention, the EP climbed to No.1 in the bandcamp alternative charts.
The anthemic rock sound mixed with harmonic synth melodies and the occasional use of a trumpet, Racing Glaciers bring a sound that makes them different, but accessible. Racing Glaciers create an atmosphere like no other, an atmosphere full of love, but yet so full of energy and a stage presence and sound that grasps your full attention.
Catch them in a small venue while you still have the chance.
TOURISTS
A blend of intricate guitar melodies, curvy art-funk bass lines and 80’s synth leads, Tourists encapsulate modern post-punk revivalism with a melodic, psychedelic spin.
Following the release of the previous Hidden Desires EP, which saw support from BBC Radio 2 (Janice Long), XFM and BBC Introducing, Tourists have re-emerged in 2015 with a sound and presence richer and more expansive than ever before.
New single All We Do Is Pretend – released 21st August – soon caught the eye of key tastemakers CLASH, The 405 and NOTION, while also featuring on Huw Stephens’s BBC Radio 1 show. With it’s captivating guitar hook among gossamer synths, Giles’ vocals remain haunting, echoing notions of self-doubt, indulgence, love and loss, in a dark shimmering sea of reverb.
