Prophets of the South Remix - 'Um Amor A Mais' - Da Lata (Agogo Records)

October 17, 2013

"This club version of Da Lata's song retains the ecstatic drum-circle state of the continent's root music, whilst also outfitting it with some contemporary charm" - XLR8R

Chris Franck and Patrick Forge have been conjuring Afro-Brazilian sounds as Da Lata for 20 years, with their latest LP 'Fabiola' dropping October 21st via Agogo Records.

In light of this, their lead single 'Um Amor A Mais' has received the remix treatment from Glasgow-via-South Africa outfit Prophets of the South, which was premiered last week over on XLR8R. The duo, consisting of Esa Williams and Ali Heron aka Ooft! offer up an Afro-house remix off the back of their debut release in July through Tief imprint. Esa is also additionally one half of the Auntie Flo live show. The remix sees Da Lata exploring the dance side of their world - influenced musical palette.
