London’s electro, breakbeat, sub-bass heads Lifecycle like to perform live like a defrosted progressive rock act rather than your usual dance outfit. They mix live instruments and vocals warped by MIDI interfaces and laptops to combine styles and create an audio spectrum fresh to the ears of those who bear witness.
Lifecycle take their brazen approach to tribal-fused electronica and pack in some serious punches and shapes in new single ‘Patterns’. The band have become well known on the London scene for spontaneous true live performances and if you do some digging you find their involvement with many influential electronic records.
Heading out on the road this autumn with their van packed with wizardry, gadgets and beaten up instruments, Lifecycle are performing shows the length of Britain, from Exeter to Aberdeen.
Single ‘Patterns’ is out on Monday 18th November on imprint Supersymmetry
Catch Lifecycle on tour during November:
02nd Nov Exeter The Cavern
07th Nov London Camden Barfly
15th Nov Stockport Blue Cat Café
05th Dec Manchester Retro Bar
“...rolling rhythm patterns wind around sophisticated chords and a bass throb that feels like an ocean current. The use of suspense without obvious release is very well realised, and the feel is of pleasures almost too intense to bear. All in all, a seriously powerful release...”
