At just 21 years of age, Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir is a sensation in his domestic music scene - almost 10% of the population now owning his Dyrd í dauðathogn debut – the biggest and fastest-selling debut album by a home grown artist.
The English language version of the album is released via One Little Indian on 27th January as In The Silence with a powerful new single,Torrent released 16th December listen here

This May saw Ásgeir’s first exposure to UK audiences in support to John Grant - who was also responsible for the English translations of In The Silence and was followed by extensive European dates with fellow countrymen Of Monsters & Men, including a memorable appearance at London’s Somerset House.
Ásgeir in currently in New York playing at CMJ and will be playing Iceland Airwaves at Harpa Silfurberg on Saturday the 2nd of November at 22:00. The following day an intimate show at The Miller (London Bridge) will take place (30th October) and his first UK headline tour follows in December.
With his deft combination of electronic & organic instrumentation, Ásgeir’s vibrant, airy songs - inset with his distinctive melancholic voicehave widespread appeal.
At the start of 2013 the success of Dyrd í dauðathogn was recognised with no less than four Iceland Music Awards and a nomination for the prestigious Nordic Music Prize. Ásgeir appeared at Sonar Reykjavik and by:Larm festivals early in the year before making his US debut in March, including two SXSW shows.
