Katey Brooks is a British folk artist who combines her gospel choir-esque vocal with a backdrop of haunting but beautiful ethereal folk sounds. The “I Fought Lovers” EP has a fragility to it, which is guided by the light of Katey's euphoric heart melting vocal described as “ a voice to melt glaciers” (Venue Magazine).
Born and raised in a commune setting between Bristol, London and Arizona, to hippy music-loving parents, Katey’s unique sound and style epitomizes the culturally diverse environment in which she grew up. Katey has now settled in the UK where she wrote, composed, arranged and produced this majestic EP.
“love this lady’s voice…she really means what she’s singing. Lovely.” Joss Stone
“So many of our regulars picked this new tune of Katey’s as one of their fives faves…” Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music)”
