She loves music and the stories that can be found in songs. She does appreciate a song with a great hook but there is something about a song that has something more to say, a deeper meaning, that has always appealed to her.
She started writing songs at about 13 years of age, most of them back then were melody lines that she would simply record. As she grew up she started to write on the piano and then a couple years later turned to the guitar. She found that she could never perform at open mic nights since they usually didn’t have a piano, so figured she'd better start writing songs on a more accessible instrument.
Her love of Blues and Motown goes some way in her thinking that she was born in the wrong decade, she also loves the classics such as the great story teller Bob Dyaln, The Beatles and the recent works of Norah Jones and Katie Melua.
