Virgil McMahon, guitarist and vocalist of Virgil and the Accelerators, has been announced as the winner of the Best Guitarist category in the European Blues Awards.

The whole band are delighted by this and Virgil made the following statement:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I can't thank you enough for all the love and support you have shown towards me and the band. I'm gob smacked and humbled beyond words that the first thing I have ever won in my life is a guitar playing award. I'm really moved to tears by it and I am in complete shock. This award isn't for me but it's for the good of my band. You all make our lifelong dreams a reality and without you all this wouldn't be possible. I love you all with all my heart! Thank you for being there for us because we are always gonna be here for you! I'd like to share this award with my good friend Ryan McGarvey, Samantha Fish and Anna Popovic. Thank you to the European Blues Awards I am honored and privileged."
