Dizzee Rascal to release new album 'The Fifth' on July 1st....

2013 sees the return of the UK music legend that is Dizzee Rascal as he prepares to release his brand new album The Fifth on 1st July.

For his latest smash Dizzee brings together a crack team of collaborators and experts to create a dynamite combination of tracks destined to hit the global jugular.  With a host of artists and producers wanting to work with him for this release he is going hard and taking a leap even further into the realms of crossover success.  The Fifth is the first album release from Dizzee since singing a multi-million pound worldwide deal with Universal and for his new album he has flipped his own script, forsaking the familiar comforts of his South London studio for a walk on the wild side through the platinum disc-lined hallways of the best producers on the planet.

Looming large alongside notable contributions from Rihanna and Chris Brown veterans Warren Okay ‘Oak’ Felder and Andrew ‘Pop’ Wansell, not to mention Madonna’s hook-scientist of choice Jean-Baptiste Kouame, are four tracks recorded with RedOne (the all-conquering Swedish/Moroccan production house that gave the world Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’, J-Lo’s ‘On The Floor’ and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’ to name but three).

“If my last record was dipping my foot into the swimming pool of happiness”, he explains “this one is fully going for a swim - backstroke, butterfly, in every way  ... not just doggie-paddle”. With musical backdrops ranging from dub-step to New York house and dancehall to moombahton, and a heavyweight cast of vocal and production cameos stretching from the kings of Houston Bun B andTrae the Truth to up-and-coming British r’n’b star Angel, via Will.i.am, Tinie Tempah, Calvin Harris, Jessie J and Robbie WilliamsThe Fifth could hardly be making a bigger summer splash.

It’s been a decade since the release of the seminal ‘Boy In Da Corner marking a big year for the East London emcee turned worldwide superstar.  He went onto release three subsequent hit albums including the self-released platinum ‘Tongue and Cheek’which spawned 5 number one singles in the UK which was honoured but the Official Charts Company last year.   With countless accolades and industry awards under his belt including coveted Mercury Music Prize, Ivor Novello, Brit and most recently a landmark performance at the 2012 OlympicsDizzee has proved he is one of the most successful British artists of all time.

The Fifth will be available in two versions, a 16-track deluxe and 12-track standard, both downloadable in clean and 'Dirtee' formats.
