Following the launch of her mammoth new single “FRIENDS” alongside Marshmello, Anne-Marie is delighted to announce details of her highly-anticipated debut album ‘Speak Your Mind’, set for release on 27 April 2018 through Major Toms/Asylum (pre-order here). Anne-Marie’s previous singles “Ciao Adios”, “Alarm” and “Rockabye” will be available as instant grats with each pre-order of the deluxe version.
‘Speak Your Mind’ is the rich fruit of the past two years’ work and a hyper-confident artistic statement. On her debut offering, Anne-Marie’s playfully infectious pop spirit entwines with her celebrated humour, charisma and idiosyncratic storytelling – attributes that have set her apart from her peers and seen her become one of the UK’s most-loved female breakthrough stars of recent years. A sonic masterclass, ‘Speak Your Mind’ spans a number of personal yet relatable topics that only Anne-Marie could unite so compellingly: album opener “Cry” is a message to the ex-boyfriend who wants you back after ditching you for someone else; the empowering “Perfect” is an ode to self-love and appreciation; the vulnerable “Machine” imagines a world free of the negativity and worry that life throws at you; while “2002” - a track Anne-Marie co-wrote with long-time friend and champion Ed Sheeran - recalls memories of a childhood sweetheart. Including her hit singles “Alarm” [2016’s biggest-selling UK debut single], the UK Top 10 and one million-selling “Ciao Adios” and recent smash “FRIENDS” alongside Marshmello, the Essex-born star commands an all-star cast of producers on her debut LP including Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran), Nana Rogues (Drake), TMS (Emelie Sande), Tom Meredith (One Direction) and of course Marshmello. Co-writes come from Emily Warren (Chainsmokers, Shawn Mendes), Ina Wroldsen (Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne), Jennifer Decilveo (Andra Day) and the aforementioned Ed Sheeran.
Since its release earlier this month, Marshmello and Anne-Marie’s new single “FRIENDS” is proving to be a mammoth worldwide hit. With over 27 million streams to date, the friend zone anthem, which is currently enjoying rotation on Capital’s S List, Radio 1’s A List and Kiss FM, is officially the highest debuted track, globally, for a British female in 2018! Currently sitting at 4 and 10 on Spotify’s UK and Global charts respectively, “FRIENDS” is quickly climbing the OCC, shooting straight into the UK’s Top 20 during its first week!
With 5 x BRIT Award nominations, 5 billion streams and 12 million global single sales under her belt, Anne-Marie’s rise to stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. Bursting onto the scene in 2016 as the winner of MTV’s Brand New series and releasing her UK Top 20 breakthrough hit “Alarm” shortly after, she ended 2016 with the UK’s Christmas No.1 single “Rockabye” alongside Clean Bandit, which spent nine weeks at the top of the UK charts and became the longest-running UK No.1 in 22 years. Kicking-off 2017 as a BRITs Critics’ Choice finalist, she followed with her UK Top 10 “Ciao Adios”, supported Ed Sheeran on his arena tour and was the proud recipient of that year’s Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef ‘Best Newcomer’ award. Not to mention an array of festival appearances last summer including a support slot with Justin Bieber at London’s British Summer Time festival.
Anne-Marie will embark on a sold out UK headline tour next month which will include a date at London’s Roundhouse on March 22 and she will be joining Ed Sheeran on his UK & Ireland + European stadium tour this year as his main support, which will include four nights at Wembley Stadium. Next week, Anne-Marie will be co-hosting Capital FM’s breakfast show from Monday – Friday alongside Roman Kemp.
