In 2014 Arthur Brown truly solidified his status as probably the greatest showman on earth. At over 70 years old he performed all across the UK, Sweden, Germany and Russia, showing venues, festivals and audiences that he is the real deal; the ultimate performer; his set an operatic, theatrical and thrilling spectacle.
Enter 2015, and The God Of Hellfire is showing no sign of abatement. Throughout March 2015 he will be touring to tell his story as part of ‘An Evening With Arthur Brown’. In addition a select few club shows have been announced for February 2015 (below). They will feature songs from latest album ‘Zim Zam Zim’ alongside classic hits such as the original 1968 No 1 hit ‘Fire’. Expect a unique extravaganza in multi-colour; an opera of musical hedonism.
Arthur’s has headlined Glastonbury Festival (with Kingdom Come in 1971); been covered by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, The Who and The Prodigy; been cited as a major influence on Peter Gabriel, Bruce Dickenson and Alice Cooper. He was the first ever artist to use a drum machine in his live show, and has been recently awarded ‘Showman of the Year’ by Classic Rock magazine. His foresight and invention is constant – in 2014 he announced the invention of a new, astonishing, apparatus: a thought control helmet that enables him to produce music purely with the power of the mind.
