VVEST, East Coast artist, producer, and record label owner, has released his first single of 2022. It represents some experimentation from the rapper’s usual style, replacing trap drums and hi-hats with more live instruments instead. The most notable piece of instrumentation on this new single, Bad Move Baby, is the Spanish-style saxophone that runs through most of the song. Once it kicks in after 15 seconds, that’s it. It’s stuck in your head for at least a day; it’s just such a catchy, memorable brass riff that seems to teleport you straight to the Copacabana.
Having previously worked with the legendary Prince who labelled him as “very talented”, VVEST clearly has a wide skill set and talent in abundance, and he’s using it effectively. After three album releases last year, Bad Move Baby is his first release of this year and it has come in time for the summer and it will be at the very top of many people’s summer playlists, that’s for sure.
Go and give it a listen and I guarantee it’ll have you dancing in no time.
