Born and bred in Brentwood, Essex, 25 year old Ben McKelvey is set to release his debut single ‘Stay Young’ this July. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, this uplifting track is all about falling in love with life again. Ben states; “It's about getting back up and trying again and not being scared of the unknown. All my life music has inspired me, whether it's a band, a song or a lyric. Hopefully this song will inspire someone else. It would be nice to give something back that I got from music.”
Originally a fully fledged drummer, after parting ways with his band mates in 2010 Ben took it upon himself to learn guitar, and create the ultimate one man band – all vocals and instruments you hear on‘Stay Young’ are performed by Mr McKelvey.
Citing his influences as legendary music makers Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Paul Weller and Bruce Springsteen, Ben brings energy, youth, heart-felt lyrics and feel-good hooks to our ears.
