Brooklyn Bowl London, the new outpost of the eponymous NYC venue, has been firing on all cylinders since its launch at the start of the year, hosting some incredible shows with the likes of Kygo, Jazzie B, The Soul Rebels, Archive and Sundance Film Festival, Brits Week, Example (as part of VEVO’s UK GO show series, footage here), Norman Jay and Sam Pepper. It’s now set to announce its next set of incredible bands that will continue the venue’s reputation as the best place to experience live music in London.

The Dandy Warhols – Fri 04/7 – SOLD OUT, Sat 05/7
Hailing from Portland, neo-psychedelic outfit The Dandy Warhols formed because the group of friends “needed music to drink to.” Named after the great Andy Warhol, they’ll bring their mix of power pop, garage rock, and shoegaze to melt faces on Brooklyn Bowl’s stage across two nights. Galactic – Thu 10/7
New Orleans funk quintet Galactic, who operate as a stable instrumental outfit with platinum-level collaborators singing lead vocals, bring the spirit of Mardi Gras wherever they go. Taking in a range of influences from hip-hop to rock, the band’s beat-driven sound will make London feel like The Big Easy. (Doors: 7:30pm, show: 8:30pm, admission: £15)
Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band – Tue 29/7 and Wed 30/7
Former bassist for the legendary Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh has kept his musical journey fresh by consistently putting together bands featuring dynamic musicians to keep the music of the Grateful Dead moving forward into the future. Backed by the Terrapin Family Band, official house band of Phil's Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA, the collaboration will weave the classics with original music to celebrate one of the most influential bands of all time. Reel Big Fish – Thu 31/7
Aaron Barrett's Huntington Beach, CA ska outfit -- Reel Big Fish -- found success in the '90s with MTV hit "Sell Out" and an appearance alongside Trey Parker and Matt Stone as the halftime band in David Zucker's BASEketball. The group continues to tour relentlessly, playing more than 250 shows every year, and has gained a cult-like following. (Doors: 6pm, show: 8:30pm, admission: £17)
Grandmaster Flash – Fri 01/8
Considered by many to be a founding father of hip-hop, South Bronx native DJ Grandmaster Flash used his studies of electrical engineering and a lifelong history of experimenting with his father’s records to pioneer the art of DJ-ing. Hailed as the inventor of record-spinning techniques such as backspin and punch-phrasing, Grandmaster Flash is also credited with perfecting the scratching technique, a skill now so refined that it tears down the house. Fun Lovin’ Criminals – Sat 09/8
NYC hip-hop rockers Fun Lovin' Criminals - often referred to by their acronym, FLC – bring their eclectic funk, blues and jazz-infused sound to Brooklyn bowl. Best known for their hit "Scooby Snacks" which features samples from films by Quentin Tarantino, the band’s existentialist, sometimes humorous, and always relevant music often deals with issues such as crime, recreational drug use, violence, poverty and politics, sure to heat up Brooklyn Bowl’s stage. (Show: 6pm, admission: £25)
Deer Tick - Mon 01/9
Deer Tick bring their American alternative rock from Providence, Rhode Island direct to Brooklyn Bowl. The band’s music has been described as rock with folk, blues and country influences. Expect cover versions in their set, including songs by the likes of The Replacements, Nirvana, John, Prine, Hank Williams, Warren Zevon and Sonny West as well as their own incredible back catalogue. Boogaloo Bowl takes over every Wednesday to provide you with a free weekly dose of soul and funk featuring a great live set followed by a set from one of London’s best DJs, spinning everything from acid jazz to afro-beat, mambo to marching band mashups and all that crosses between!
