With her effortless vocals, Molly Hocking is a 21 year old emerging artist on the UK music scene. Having already secured a No1 and No6 single on the Official iTunes music chart she is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.
I first heard about Molly ahead of her performance at The Great Estate Festival which took place in June 2022 at Scorriton House, her set was spellbindingly beautiful, her voice truly is something else and deserves to be heard by all.
No stranger to performing live, she has appeared at BST Hyde Park, The Roundhouse in Camden, special guest performer on The Britannia, supported Olly Murs at the 02, she’s certainly starting to make her mark in the music industry. Born in St Ives, Cornwall, Molly has sung and performed from an early age. She shot to prominence when she won The Voice UK 2019 after auditioning in her local pub at just 17 - an amazing experience and great platform at the start of her music career….
Now releasing independently, she has built up her catalogue of original songs in 2021 - a versatile singer she puts her unmistakable spin on heartfelt pop as well as catchy dance tracks with her unique vocals - this is started to gain her national airplay on Radio 2. In June 2022, she supported Sir Tom Jones at Port Eliot and also McFly on their Cornwall leg of their tour, be sure to follow her musical journey as it continues to go from strength to strength….
Her latest project is a wonderful cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’, which came about when Molly started working with producer and singer Matt Johnson from Tristar Records. They started rearranging iconic covers in an acoustic style to make them her own. Molly adds, “Lady GaGa is a bit of a role model to me, she’s always followed her own path and doesn’t seem to let anything get in her way - something I’m hoping to aspire to!”
The video for ‘Bad Romance’ was shot on Porthmeor Beach in St Ives recently by the very brilliant Mawgan Lewis, check out the video below…..
