Cory Wong’s forthcoming album 'Lost In The Wonder' is a celebration of collaboration and guitar mastery - Out 3rd February

December 17, 2025

Few artists embody joy, groove, and sheer creative energy quite like Cory Wong. With his forthcoming solo album Lost In The Wonder (out February 3rd, 2026), the Minneapolis-born virtuoso and Vulfpeck member reaffirms his place as one of modern music’s most dynamic collaborators.

The record is a kaleidoscope of voices and styles, featuring contributions from Benny Sings, Cody Fry, Taylor Hanson, Theo Katzman, Stephen Day, Devon Gilfillian, Yam Haus, Louis Cato, Ellis, Elysia Biro, and Magic City Hippies. Wong’s ability to weave these diverse talents into a cohesive sonic tapestry speaks to his gifts not just as a guitarist, but as a producer, arranger, and bandleader.

Fans can already dive into the album’s world through two freshly released tracks:

  • “Lost In The Wonder” (feat. Benny Sings) – a breezy, soulful cut that pairs Wong’s signature rhythm guitar with Benny’s warm vocal textures.

  • “Tongue Tied” (feat. Stephen Day) – a playful, melodic groove showcasing Wong’s knack for blending pop sensibility with funk precision.

“There are lots of sides to me as an artist,” Wong explains. “A lot of people know me as a guitar guy, or even more specifically, ‘rhythm guitar guy’. That’s accurate, but it doesn’t tell the whole story… I wanted to make an album that really showcased my production, writing, and arranging. Does that mean less guitar? No! Some of my best guitar work is on this record.”

Wong’s career has always been about more than technical brilliance. From his explosive live energy with Vulfpeck and The Fearless Flyers to his genre-crossing collaborations with Jon Batiste, Chromeo, and Victor Wooten, Wong has carved out a space where funk, jazz, and pop collide with unbridled joy. His projects—whether the Wong Notes podcast or his variety series The Wongnotes—extend his artistry into storytelling and community-building.

The album release coincides with a major tour, including headline shows, festival appearances, and a landmark date at London’s O2 Arena with Vulfpeck. Expect precision, humour, and connection—the hallmarks of Wong’s live performances.

Lost In The Wonder is a statement of intent: a reminder that collaboration fuels creativity, and that the guitar—whether in rhythm, orchestral layers, or blistering solos—remains at the heart of his evolving artistry.
