With Cyber Celt arriving 18 September, CHASING ABBEY have expanded their world tour, added intimate in-store performances, and doubled down on the cultural fire that’s been building around them for the past decade. What’s unfolding now feels less like a traditional album rollout and more like a full‑scale movement.
It’s wild to think Cyber Celt is technically their debut album. Ronan Bell, Jonathan Byrne and Ted Conway have spent ten years crafting a fiercely loyal fanbase — platinum records, sold‑out tours, over a million followers online — all without a full-length release. That slow-burn ascent has given them something rare: a debut that already feels like a milestone.
The record is a collision of past, present and future. Celtic instrumentation meets modern electronic production; ancestral lessons meet political urgency. Themes of pride, heritage, corruption, greed and colonialism run through the tracklist, delivered with the weight of Gaeilge — a language they wield not as nostalgia, but as a weapon.
Ted Conway puts it plainly: “Kneecap reignited the flame, in a way. We feel it’s our responsibility to use that to progress our culture and tradition… it’s often easier for us to express that in our native language.”
The Cyber Celt World Tour is huge — and getting bigger. Alongside the newly announced Galway and Dublin instores, the band have added fresh Irish dates in December and January, extending a run that already spans the USA, Europe and Australia.

What makes Chasing Abbey compelling isn’t just the sound — it’s the worldview. They’re artists who believe music has a purpose, and they’re not shy about stating it.
“We have a moral code that we live by — you have to, in these times,” Conway says. “It’s pretty crazy out there… racism, hatred, bigotry, sexism, the whole shebang. Everybody has a duty to stand against it. This is the purpose of music, of being an artist.”
The new record is a body of work steeped in identity, defiance and cultural revival — aligning them with peers like Kneecap, Lankum and The_Mary_Wallopers, who are reshaping Irish music for a new generation.
