Glasgow’s Dead Pony are gearing up for a huge run of headline shows this May and June — and if their latest single Eat My Dust! is anything to go by, these rooms are about to detonate.
The band have mapped out an eight‑date UK tour, hitting Nottingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Southampton and rounding off at London’s Underworld. It’s their first proper headline run since the release of their acclaimed debut album, a record that earned them a Scottish Album of the Year nomination and cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting heavy‑leaning alt‑rock bands in the UK.
Frontwoman Anna Shields has long been the band’s lightning rod, but Eat My Dust! pushes that energy into something sharper, heavier and more defiant. Guitarist Blair Crichton describes the track as a purge of the past — “moving on from negative things in your life and letting the haters choke on your dust cloud as you pass them.” It’s a mission statement wrapped in metalcore‑tinged riffs and drums that hit like a demolition crew.
The band have spent the last year quietly rebuilding behind the scenes, and it sounds like they’re stepping into this new chapter with intent. “We’ve been busy in the studio building a really unique and special new live show,” they say. “The reaction to the single has blown us away — it feels like the rooms are going to erupt when we play the new tracks.”
Alongside the headline dates, Dead Pony will also be tearing up festival stages this summer, including Slam Dunk South and North in May, before joining Twenty One Pilots at All Points East in August.
