Behold, a new-minted summer jam – tart like a spritz, fresh as strawberries.
Surfing on a wave of jewel-bright synths and balmy positivity, Desperately Seeking Suki’s debut single ‘Suki’ is a red-hot blast of holiday torch song..
Who are they, then? Siblings Natassa Zoë and Danny Pugh. Natassa divides her time between Australia and the UK, has a deal with Fender in her day job as session guitarist for assorted cool acts (Hayley Mary from The Jezabels, GRAACE). She's also, get this, a hip filmmaker, with credits at festivals in Cannes, Berlin, New York, Toronto, and London.
Brother Danny is Bristol-based, where he performs as SIG SALI doling out emotionally resonant electro-indie. No slouch himself, Danny has royally ripped up stages at Glastonbury, and collabbed with Freddie off the Vaccines.
On this certified heater, Natassa’s popsicle-cool spoken word vocals glide sublimely over Danny’s deliciously off-kilter beats – and when that irresistible earworm chorus drops you just know this summer is set to be a scorcher.
