Dillon is proud to announce the release of her new album, 'The Unknown', the follow up to her 2011 debut, 'This Silence Kills'. Dillon will also be playing an exclusive date in London at the Borderline on 24th April.
From the opening bars of the album’s title track, it is immediately clear that Dillon is a very different artist from the one on debut album 'This Silence Kills'. 'The Unknown' is much darker fare, with deep fuzzy bass notes and soft piano keys aplenty.
Whereas the majority of her debut album had been written before it was recorded, ‘The Unknown’ came about more as a conceptual work. From the balladic lead single, ‘A Matter of Time’, and subtle tones of ‘Forward’ to the club-infused ‘Nowhere’, Dillon‘s unique vocal tones are really brought to the fore.
While certainly pensive at times, Dillon is keen to ensure that her music is not considered overtly melancholy: “The lyrics are a lot more abstract and open, although they are just as personal and introverted.”
'The Unknown' marks Dillon's second release with legendary German label, BPitch Control. Founded by electronic producer Ellen Allien in 1999, BPitch Control is famed for launching the careers of iconic techno acts, including Modeselektor, Paul Kalkbrenner, Apparat andModerat.
With the fantastic 'The Unknown', and the continued support of BPitch Control, Dillon is an artist that is here to stay.
