Electric Bay Festival, held on Sunday 16th July 2023, marked another incredible year for this annual event which is fast climbing the list of South West events not to be missed . Building upon its previous success in 2022, the festival once again electrified the crowd with a stellar lineup of DJ’s and acts that left attendees buzzing for more.
Although the weather posed a challenge this year, as a yellow weather warning led to the cancellation of Saturday's events, festival-goers unfortunately missed out on some spectacular performances. Acts like SHY FX, MS DYNAMITE and the highly anticipated headline act, CRAIG DAVID, would undoubtedly have been unforgettable experiences.
However, the show went on, and Sunday's event was a triumph in itself. The immense lineup featured exceptional artists such as HEDEX, ANDY C, and SUB FOCUS, who delivered mind-blowing sets that had the crowd bobbing along to the deepest bass that Torquay has ever encountered. The pinnacle of the day was the headline act, PENDULUM, who took the stage and unleashed a fusion of drum and bass music, amplified by the inclusion of live instruments. This unique blend created an incredible atmosphere and a sound that could probably be heard from Meadfoot Beach to Paignton sea-front!
As well as the incredible music, Electric Bay Festival also catered to the diverse tastes of its attendees through a wide variety of food options. Whether you preferred vegan or meat dishes, there were plenty of choices available to satisfy every appetite. From steaming bowls of noodles to refreshing ice cream treats, the festival's food stalls offered a delicious range of culinary delights.
The well stocked bars had a steady stream of punters throughout the day and despite a surge between acts, looked like they were managing very well in keeping everyone’s thirsts quenched as the sun shone on Torre Abbey Meadows.
Electric Bay Festival also provided a vibrant marketplace for festival-goers to explore. From bucket hats to shiny dresses, the festival's stalls offered an array of stylish and eclectic merchandise. Among the attractions was a stall dedicated to face painting and glitter, providing a whimsical touch that allowed festival attendees to express their creativity and individuality.
The success of Electric Bay Festival can be attributed to the efficient management and dedicated staff. The security team ensured the safety of all attendees, while the box office staff went above and beyond, offering pleasant and helpful service throughout.
Overall, Electric Bay Festival 2023 was a resounding triumph, showcasing the power of music to bring people together and create unforgettable memories. The cancellation of Saturday's events was unfortunate, but it did not dampen the spirit of the festival. With its phenomenal lineup, diverse food options, and lively marketplace, Electric Bay Festival proved once again why it remains a must-attend event for music lovers from all walks of life.
See you all in 2024!
