For nearly two decades, First Aid Kit have built a catalogue that feels both timeless and deeply personal. From the haunting folk landscapes of The Big Black and The Blue through to the widescreen Americana of Palomino, Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg have become one of the most beloved voices in modern folk music. Now, they're preparing to revisit every chapter of that journey as they bring their acclaimed Visions of the Past tour to the UK and Ireland in January 2027.
Fresh from a pair of unforgettable sold-out performances at London's Royal Albert Hall alongside the 65-piece Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the duo are scaling things back for a series of intimate theatre shows that promise something rather special. Far from being a greatest-hits exercise, Visions of the Past is being described as a celebration of the band's entire musical story, stretching from their earliest recordings right through to songs that audiences haven't heard before.
The tour takes its name from a lyric in fan favourite "Ghost Town", a track from their 2010 debut album, and has already captivated audiences across Scandinavia and Europe. For longtime fans, these shows offer a rare opportunity to hear deep cuts, forgotten gems and cherished covers sitting comfortably alongside signature songs such as "My Silver Lining", "Emmylou" and "Fireworks".
Adding an extra layer of warmth and intimacy to proceedings, the sisters' younger brother, Isak Benjamin, will open each date, making the tour a genuine family affair. It's a fitting touch for a band whose music has always felt rooted in connection, storytelling and shared experiences.
Speaking about the upcoming dates, First Aid Kit revealed that the performances will be stripped-back and reflective, allowing them to revisit material from their earliest EP releases while also teasing brand-new songs. They've even invited fans to suggest rare tracks and covers they'd love to hear, hinting that no two evenings may feel quite the same.
Across Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Brighton and London, audiences can expect an evening rich in nostalgia, emotion and discovery. For those who have followed First Aid Kit's remarkable journey from Stockholm teenagers recording harmony-filled folk songs to internationally acclaimed artists, Visions of the Past looks set to be a heartfelt celebration of everything that has made the duo so enduringly special.
With tickets on sale from Friday 9th October 2026, demand is expected to be high. If the reaction to their recent Royal Albert Hall appearances is anything to go by, these January dates could prove to be one of the most sought-after folk tours of 2027.
