This 27th of October sees the release of the new single ‘Two Bodies’ from the ever elusive duo Flight Facilities. ‘Two Bodies’ received an exclusive premiere on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show this past weekend and the single follows the incredibly welcomed announcement of their debut album, ‘Down To Earth’ which is due to release on the same day.
‘Two Bodies’ is a seductive track lit alive with velvet-smooth synths floating over the duo’s signature melodic bassline. The vocals are brought by the divine Emma Louise who carries the track skywards creating a continuous state of bliss. The stunning video was shot in New York and directed by Lorin Askill who has previously collaborated with Flume, Phoenix, Chet Faker and Lana Del Rey. With highlights placed on the innocence and rawness of adolescent love, the video explores the positive affirmation of sometimes needing or wanting to be taken advantage of when such a strong connection between two people is formed.
Flight Facilities are scaling new heights on their album ‘Down To Earth’. It’s not just a new chapter, it’s a whole new altitude; bound together through ornate instrumental interludes in the seamless style of some of the boys’ favourite records, like Cut Copy’s “In Ghost Colours” and Metronomy’s “English Riviera”. There are some unexpected guests dotted throughout this unexpected Flight Facilities journey. Some of the guests include the divine Ms Emma Louise, New York’s most soulful comedian, Reggie Watts, a star turn from Melbourne’s Owl Eyes, a foray into hip-hop with hotly tipped rapper Bishop Nehru, along with existing favourites like Micky Green and Giselle. These are just some of the highlights that will be coming out of the “Down To Earth” carousel in the near future.
The production pair will embark on a huge world tour this November bringing their new album tunes and impressive back catalogue to live stages around the globe. The tour will see the guys conquer their biggest headline shows to date, via the likes of Brixton Electric (LDN), The Enmore (Syd), The Forum (Melb), Webster Hall (NYC) and The Regent in LA. The duo have been racking up serious air miles of late playing everywhere from Coachella to Falls Festival and their recent ‘Stand Still’ tour saw them selling out huge rooms for over three months.
