Swedish Earth Music artist Gaeya has announced her new EP Growth, arriving June 19th 2026 to coincide with the Midsummer celebrations, a moment of light, renewal and ritual that aligns perfectly with the record’s themes. To mark the announcement, she has released her powerful new single ‘Higher Ground’, a soaring, elemental track that blends ethereal synths, tribal percussion and Gaeya’s unmistakably expansive vocals.
Released on Walpurgis Night, the ancient spring fire festival, ‘Higher Ground’ is both a cleansing and a rebirth. It’s a call to confront the destructive patterns shaping the world, and an invitation to step into a more conscious, compassionate future. The timing is no accident; Gaeya has always worked in harmony with the natural cycles that inspire her music.
The accompanying video was filmed on Mount Teide in Tenerife, where Gaeya performs against the volcanic landscape’s raw, ancient power. The mountain becomes a symbol of transformation, a reminder that the forces we fear can also be the ones that reshape us
“Fire is one of the most powerful forces of transformation,” Gaeya explains. “By burning away the old, we create fertile ground for what is yet to come.” Her words echo the spirit of Walpurgis Night, Beltane and Valborg, festivals that mark the turning point between spring and summer, a time to welcome light and set intentions for the future.
For Gaeya, ‘Higher Ground’ is about courage: the courage to release what no longer belongs, to move through fear, and to choose love even in the darkest moments. It’s a message that feels deeply resonant in a world still navigating uncertainty and upheaval.
Growth follows Gaeya’s acclaimed 2021 EP Awakening, released during the pandemic, a time when many people were forced to question their direction and desires. If Awakening captured that first spark of awareness, Growth represents the next step: the difficult, necessary work of realignment.
“The world we live in today is still asking us to make choices,” Gaeya says. “Often, the times when we grow the most are not the easiest. But when we choose to learn from what we go through, something within us begins to shift.”
The EP explores that shift, the moment before transformation, when discomfort becomes possibility.
Produced by Anders Rane, Growth weaves together the sounds of Gaeya’s Nordic ancestry with forward‑looking electronic textures. It’s a record that feels both ancient and futuristic, grounded and celestial.

With Growth, Gaeya continues to carve out her own space, one where ancient ritual meets modern electronics, where environmental consciousness becomes art, and where transformation is not just a theme but a lived experience. This EP feels like a threshold moment, both for her and for the listeners willing to step onto higher ground with her.
