You can’t beat a hometown gig and what better way to spend a Friday night than in the company of three friends enjoying being back on stage and having the best of times. The Frog and Fiddle is a fantastic venue in the heart of Cheltenham with a timber vaulted ceiling and a great setup in sound, lights and stage. The beer is good too….
On this delayed tour, following Gaz’s new album Idiomatic, he takes in most of the country, with and without Jake and B-Sydes, full band and even supporting the Levellers, in venues and festivals throughout the summer.
The crowd turned up early and were greeted with fantastic performances from Jake and B-Sydes. This was just 3 guys having fun, a lot of cider and many shots. The stories were heartfelt and engaging and just so funny. None more so than reading the socials on Saturday and seeing they may have got told off in the hotel after the gig for pillow fighting (lads, you can call in ‘jousting’ because the pillow is big but we all know what it was!!!). There were touching moments too. Lockdown has been hard on everyone and it was refreshing to hear all of them opening discussing the challenges they have faced.
Gaz took to the stage and was welcomed by the lovely audience and put on a hell of a show. New songs and old songs with many in the crowd singing every word. Gaz used to play Cheltenham a lot so he felt this to be a homecoming of sorts, especially after so many lock down streams.
Jake and B-Sydes joined Gaz back on stage for the last couple of songs (and a few more shots) and brought the house down. It was so refreshing to see such a joyous performance from 3 great guys, with a strong set of songs.
Get down to see Gaz, Jake and B-Sydes when they are near you (follow the link for tickets) and get over to bandcamp to pickup their latest merch and music, its where they make their money!
