Produced by long term collaborator Simon Ellis (Spice Girls, S Club 7, Westlife). Conrad is based in Newcastle. Pete is from Derbyshire and is a solo artist and singer with a band called Giant Silent World.
He and Conrad met online and, with a shared passion for 80’s beat driven indie, put their head together to create a song. "One Mistake” is the result!
Pete Gustard, the latest Last of the Fallen Angels collaborators answers the questions…
Which instrument is your favourite to play and why?
Guitar. It’s the only instrument I can express myself in the way I hear the music I want to write in my head… which understandable sounds a little strange, but it’s true :-)
What is it about music that makes you so passionate about The Last of the Fallen Angels?
It’s a true coming together of like minds, driven by a shared musical heritage. It’s a group of really diverse and interesting musicians who really enjoy the collaboration aspect and it’s an absolute privilege to be part of it!
Describe your favourite part about being a musician.
Thinking of a subject, or message, or melody, you want to dress in a song and making that happen. It’s a buzz every time.
What is your favourite thing about performing as a band? Do you have a favourite moment the fans don't know about?
Playing live to any size audience and hearing people sing your lyrics. Even now it still stops me dead in my tracks to think not only people might have listened to your music but they might have also learned your words!
Do you have a favourite concert or country you've performed in?
There’s lots of gigs over the years in lots of places, but I think busking in New York City is one of my favourite memories. Such an amazing place to watch people go by….
Which song or album released this year has inspired/motivated you as a musician?
ALT-J - The Dream. Just another great album from them, indescribable occasionally, melodic genius, great production and also setting the atmosphere to their very own dimension.
What advice would you give someone who wants to start a band in 2023?
Don’t do it! Ha, only joking. DO IT! But do it on your own terms, learn to be you and find out how to express yourself. Don’t try to impress people, just be proud of yourself and the fact you are writing, playing and performing in any capacity. It’s a fantastic hobby….. which occasionally leads to fantastic careers
