Social media has allowed many unsigned artists to be heard, this band is one of them. Leading the line of a pop/folk rock genre, on 27th March 2015, Hanna’s Marines release their single ‘Let’s be bolder’ and guess what? musicmuso just had a listen....
Hanna and her troops have engulfed acoustic style warfare since September 2013’s debut single release ‘Silence' and since then have been busy touring the wonderful nightlife of London town, where the pavements are drenched in gold and all that baloney. They've been evolving their sound and probably picking up a few new fans along the way and hopefully a few quid in the cracks between the gold paving slabs!
So, we were fortunate enough to be sent a preview copy of the single ‘Let’s be bolder’, I sat down with a brew and a couple of Hob-Nobs (other biscuits are available) and had a listen....
The opening of a solitary melodic guitar riff brings in the essence of peace that allows Hanna Mehmets’ vocals to be the forefront of the record. The leader of this London based band, whose delicate vocals transcend the emotion of what may be a heart breaking track with lyrics that are deep and personal to the creator.
One of the reasons why this song works, is the superb addition of Hana Piranha, whose inspiring work on the strings is essential and accompanies the guitar playing beautifully. Piranha is out on tour performing her own music and is definitely someone to witness live.
All in all, this is a great opener which means there’s more for Hanna’s Marines to evolve and we at musicmuso are excited to see what else this band can bring to the musical table.
All the hard work this band has put in to get to this stage is summed up perfectly at the end of the song with the lyric “It Will All Work Out Alright”
A few words that we can all live by....
