Indie-Folk artist Ollie Dixon finds calm after the storm with new EP Rebirth - Available NOW

December 21, 2025

From time to time you stumble upon artists who don’t just write songs, they create worlds that you can escape the mundanity of every day life, Over the past few years, Ollie Dixon has quietly become one of them. From the south coast, he’s carved out a space in the alt‑folk landscape that feels both intimate and cinematic, the kind of music that makes you stop mid‑stride because something in it mirrors your own internal feelings.

This November, Dixon releases Rebirth, a six‑track body of work that traces the emotional fault lines of a life cracked open and slowly pieced back together. It’s a project shaped by upheaval — the kind that forces you to let go of the familiar and step into the unknown with nothing but instinct and a guitar for company.

Where earlier singles like “Byegone,” “Rebirth,” and “Solace” wrestled with uncertainty and the restless urge to start again, the new single “Oceans” feels like the moment the dust finally settles. It’s the quiet exhale after months of holding your breath. Built on soft tides of reverb, layered vocals, and Dixon’s unmistakable warmth, the track drifts between fragility and acceptance, capturing that rare point where surrender becomes its own kind of strength.

Across the EP, Dixon leans into the atmospheric textures that have become his signature — the wide‑open spaces, the coastal melancholy, the sense of being suspended between memory and possibility. It’s music that feels lived‑in, shaped by long nights, shifting tides, and the slow work of rebuilding.

Dixon’s rise has been steady and organic. BBC Introducing has championed him across the South and West, Spotify has spotlighted his releases on major folk playlists, and Amazing Radio has repeatedly pushed his singles up their new‑music charts. “Solace” alone has travelled far beyond its modest beginnings, finding a home on SoundCloud’s trending lists and racking up hundreds of thousands of plays.

Onstage, he’s become a familiar presence across the UK and Ireland — selling out headline shows, supporting international touring artists, and bringing his atmospheric sound to festivals from Boardmasters to Between the Trees. With a European tour on the horizon for early 2026, it feels like the world he’s been quietly building is about to open up even further.

Rebirth is a work of survival, reflection, and the slow, patient work of finding yourself again. And with “Oceans,” Dixon offers the most serene moment of the journey — a reminder that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is let go.
