Ahead of RATTLERFEST which takes place from 19-20 April at HEALEYS CYDER FARM in Penhallow (nr Truro), we wanted to chat to bands and artists performing at the festival so YOU can plan your weekend. Next up is an incredible Cornish singer-songwriter called KITTY….

Please describe your act/band

My name is KITTY and I’m a solo acoustic artist really focused on making my set as varied as possible and drawing the audience in from the emotion in my songs! I love having a mix of fast and slow songs in my set as well as switching from songs on the acoustic guitar to piano and hopefully electric guitar too!

When did your relationship with Rattlerfest start?

Through social media I’ve seen that Rattlerfest has had so many great artists for a few years now so I’m very excited to finally be a part of it myself!

Have you played Rattlerfest before?

No I haven’t played before so I cannot wait!!! I’m definitely most excited for the whole festival vibe being my first one of the year and playing my set for some new people who haven’t heard my music before!

What was your reaction when you knew you would be playing there this year?

I was just so excited!! Playing festivals is my absolute favourite thing to do so getting to do this one in such a lovely location is going to be amazing!

From the bands announced so far, who are you looking forward to seeing and who would you hope may yet make it onto the bill?

Scouting for Girls are definitely one of those bands that would be in my ‘childhood playlist’ so getting to see them with some friends will be such fun!

There is a Rattler Shop onsite, will you be paying a visit for some takeaway produce?

It would be rude not to wouldn’t it!!!

Are you planning on a pasty, ice cream, cream tea whilst in Cornwall?

Being Cornish all three are pretty customary in my diet so i’m sure I will have at least one at the festival!

Finally, why should a festival punter make an effort to see you guys at Rattlerfest this year?

I’m an up and coming Cornish act with a varied and detailed set. My songs explore raw emotions and themes that (I’m sure) we can all relate to! I always look forward to vocally being able to push each song and subtly enhance them from how they are originally written and I love the spontaneity of this! Performing is what completes me so I hope that conveys and you enjoy my set!
