INTERVIEW: I caught up with COLOUR TV to discuss their breakup, the reformation, influences and more....

June 20, 2025

COLOUR TV are a band I fell in love with a couple of years back, I first saw them in a small pub in Plymouth and instantly thought that they ‘had something’, they were different from other bands, they had a true stage presence that other bands just didn’t, and since then, I have enjoyed their music and their live performances across Devon and Cornwall.

Everything was going so well until it……..stopped.

The band issued a statement saying that they had decided to call it a day, I was confused and disappointed but accepted it as ‘one of those things’, maybe one day, they’d reform and carry on from where they left off.

Fast forward to May 2025 and I spotted a post on the socials saying that they had announced a one off show on July 12th at The Junction on Mutley Plain, they had decided to reform and start working on new material, my prayers had been answered!

Chatting to Sam Durneen (vocalist and all round great guy), he invited me along to their rehearsal studio in the heart of Plymouth to chat to the band and hear some of the new material that they are working on, who was I to turn down this opportunity.

Press the ‘play’ button below to hear how I got on, learn more about the driver behind the breakup of the band and what finally caused them to get back together again. You’ll learn abut their musical influences and I might have added my favourite CTV track at the end for you to enjoy!
