Ahead of RATTLERFEST which takes place from 19-20 April at HEALEYS CYDER FARM in Penhallow (nr Truro), we wanted to chat to bands and artists performing at the festival so YOU can plan your weekend. First up is Plymouth based super-talented 4-piece THE BUSKETEERS….
Please describe your act/band and tell us a fascinating fact that not many people would know...
The Busketeers were born on the streets of Plymouth Devon UK... we started out as 4 individual singer-songwriters who started busking and eventually made a little name for ourselves. We have now gone on to perform at venues and festivals such as BOARDMASTERS, PLYMOUTH PAVILIONS and even supported THE WAILERS!
When did your relationship with Rattlerfest start?
We heard it on the grapevine (I’m sure there’s a song in that…) and was contacted to perform, and of course, we couldn't say no! It was one of our first main stage slots when we started out, so we love the Rattlerfest team! The Security and Tech Crews are always a good laugh!
Have you played Rattlerfest before? If so, when and if not, what are you looking forward to the most?
We have played a few times and the audience are always very receptive. Maybe this year we will get Ken to crowd surf after a few Rattlers!!
What was your reaction when you knew you would be playing there this year?
I mean it’s what we love doing, performing to larger crowds and feeling a bit more professional than usual! It's also a place where we do get nervous, but as soon as we find the groove we enjoy it! Festivals are real highs for us!
From the bands announced so far, who are you looking forward to seeing and who would you hope may yet make it onto the bill?
It has to be Dick and Dom. I don't speak for everyone though (Matt)
There is a Rattler Shop onsite, will you be paying a visit for some takeaway produce?
We are a bit of strange band, only one of us actually likes a drink. The other three only drink about once a month, sometimes not at all. Some say we are boring, but I say we just live H20 a bit too much!
Are you planning on a pasty, ice cream or maybe a cream tea whilst in Cornwall?
All of them, but maybe not the cream tea. Ken does love a Yorkshire Tea though. Also ‘cream first’ then the jam but I know this is Cornwall so I guess we’ll have to go ‘jam first’.
Finally, why should a festival punter make an effort to see you guys at Rattlerfest this year?
We are a very different band. four unique singers, all switching instruments is really something most say they have never seen before so you gotta check us out! 5pm on the main stage on Friday, hope to see you there!
