Jennifer Davies has revealed the stunningly spectacular video for ‘Disconnected’. The video premiered at Wonderland who said, “We’ve been waiting for Jennifer Davies for a long time. Jennifer’s powerful voice never fails to take centre stage, but her talent is truly showcased when the backing falls away and she’s left to purr alone. It’s unashamed, unabashed pop. There’s surely a place for Jennifer in the hearts of fans of Icona Pop and Charli XCX’s ‘I Love It’, as a track with the same potential to be an overwhelmingly huge hit.”
An anthem for the single ladies, ‘Disconnected’ leads with gigantic pop riffs and triumphant 80s synths in an inspired alternative take on an early Katy Perry's teenage dream.
Filmed in the sprawling wind farms of Palm Springs, California, ‘Disconnected’ sees Davies bring her signature disco and drama to the desert. Likened to the grandeur of Madonna and the ethereal beauty of Bat For Lashes, Davies sets a style to turn every head on Sunset Strip.
Featuring pieces from lead fashion designer Nabil Nayal – as well as statement clothing from David Giampiccolo, Opening Ceremony & Magritte – the ‘Disconnected’ video captures the defining moments of Davies’ career to date in picture perfect Polaroid-esque form, inspired by the surrealist imagery of the iconic René Magritte artwork.
‘Disconnected’ is the final song taken from the recently released Lapse Of Time EP, on Davies own label STUDIIO/Universal, and follows videos for ‘Lapse Of Time’, ‘Choke’ and ‘Silhouette’, all of which have been directed by long-term collaborator Maxx Peter.
