Julia Spada's debut solo effort throws up an enticing combination of the Swedes intense, odd RnB voice and pungent lyrics over a backdrop of wonky drums and minimal G funk synths. "I wrote Reptile Mission as a message from the new world to the old world. It deals with that grey zone where subtle suppression leads to oppression."

Spada was just dubbed "Number 1 Breakthrough Artist of 2014" by Sweden's biggest music radio channel P3. This inofficial release follows features on well loved newcomer Saturday, Monday's tracks - Headshake and The Ocean - which spawned healthy hype from the likes of Fader, Pitchfork, Popjustice and The New York Times.

Reptile Mission is produced by Spada herself together with London based producer Peter Jarrett. The latter's other projects include forthcoming albums with Hawkon and instrumental duo spOOns.

It gives a sneak peek into the creative process of a debut album that's still coming together, but which Spada promises will be preceded by more releases in the not too distant future.
