Liam Bailey has also announced a show in the New Year at Notting Hill Art’s Club for Thursday 22nd January. Tickets can be purchased here from today.
Album cut “Villain,” called “a psychedelic stomper that sounds something like Hendrix covering a White Stripes track” by Entertainment Weekly, has been given a fresh sheen by A$AP Ferg, who contributes a verse to the top of the track. True to the edgy grit of the original, “Villain” Ft. A$AP Ferg was unleashed earlier this year by Complex. Liam Bailey sings with a raw expressiveness that has drawn comparisons to Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age and Cody ChesnuTT.
The Nottingham, England native got his initial introduction to the music business via his friend, producer Salaam Remi. Remi introduced Bailey to the late Amy Winehouse, who was so impressed with his music that she signed Bailey to her Lioness Records imprint and recorded 2 EP’s with him. In a similar fashion, Bailey was personally invited by Paloma Faith to join her for the US leg of her fall tour in September.
