“Their artillery of alternative universe hits is staggering” MOJO
Monday 28th May saw the release of “Paris” the second single from Little Dragon’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Nabuma Rubberband.” The band kicked off 2014 in spectacular style with the release of “Klapp Klapp” the first single from the new record which not only received incredible radio support both in the UK & internationally but saw the band make their biggest US primetime TV appearance to date performing the track on the David Letterman Show:
Continuing to champion the band, Zane Lowe premiered “Paris” as his ‘Hottest Record in the World’ on last night’s show http://bit.ly/LDZLowe Last month the band recorded a stunning Lauren Lavern Session on BBC6 Music showcasing snippets of the sheer power and impeccable production of the new album which is undoubtedly an epic and beautiful force of nature, listen here: http://bbc.in/1gVqk3u
“Paris” is a Little Dragon future-classic, breathing velvety synths over a melodic melting bassline. The ultra-slick production of the power backline is swept skywards by the heavenly sounds of Yukimi Nagano’s vocal. The video for the single was shot and directed by the bands close friend and touring companion, Trevor Kane (Big Boi, Outkast, Killer Mike) in Texas; the band journey in a runty old car to the rural and peculiar town of Paris, Texas, the road trip portrayed through a magical lens of noir performances and abstract splendour.
Already this year the band have sold out a string of European tour dates and kicked off their US live dates with two shows at SXSW and Coachella to follow next week in tandem with other US headline shows. In the UK they will take to the stage at the some of the biggest live music events in the calendar, including headline slots at The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party, Somerset House Series which sold-out in 24 hours and an impressive billing on the Other Stage at Glastonbury.
“Nabuma Rubberband” was released through Because Music on May 15th.
