On the 4th December 2024, Remi Wolf brought her vibrant energy to the O2 Academy in Bristol, delivering a performance that left the audience buzzing with excitement.
The night began with the support act, Maddie Jay, who perfectly set the tone with her sassy dream pop style. Using the keyboard as her base, Maddie pirouetted freely around the stage, her voice tender and warm, yet filled with an energy that captivated everyone.
Her set was a short yet sweet introduction, with her latest single "11th Avenue" highlighting the sublime softness of her sound. It's clear that her debut album "I Can Change Your Mind" set to release in January next year, is one to watch out for.
Maddie, a producer and musician in multiple bands, would later return to the stage as Remi Wolf’s bass player. She even sampled the crowd's cheers and used them as a dance beat for the next song, a unique touch that got everyone moving.
Then, Remi Wolf hit the stage, leaping on with boundless energy and high kicks. Opening with "Cherries and Cream" she immediately set a bold and beautiful tone for the evening. Her album "Big Ideas" is packed with funky pop tunes and hooks galore, and the opener "Cinderella" had the crowd going wild as she worked a crowd that clearly adored her.
"PitiFul" continued the theme of infectious pop treats, with Remi never standing still. Her passionate, powerful performance was marked by boundless energy, as she sang back-to-back with her guitarist, who gave it the complete guitar hero treatment.
Although I was only allowed to stay for the first three songs due to an unexpected security restriction, those three songs were pure entertainment, showcasing Remi Wolf’s incredible talent and stage presence.
Overall, the night was a fantastic blend of dream pop and funky energy, and both Maddie Jay and Remi Wolf left a lasting impression.
